Load Break Switch
In a circuit with two rail section lines fed by two independent feeder breakers, service continuity must be guaranteed when one of the feeder breakers requires maintenance. A Load Break Switch can bypass the out-of-service feeder breaker to prevent power outage.
This function can be covered by an interconnect circuit breaker, recommended for best performance, or by an underload switch disconnector, cheaper but missing any protections.
- High making capacity
- High short-circuit withstand capacity (interconnect circuit breaker)
- High reliability
